Elon Musk’s Starlink systems are now deemed ineffective in Ukraine

Must Read

Earlier this year, Elon Musk made statements that he has been supplying Ukraine with Starlink systems to help Ukraine overcome the battle that is currently taking place in their country.

This move proved that these satellites were more than just a tool to provide internet access in remote regions of the world and can actually be used to wage real by providing real-time reconnaissance capabilities to soldiers on the ground.

I am sure this was a profitable endeavor for Elon Musk as there have been reports that contract foreign fighters who have been participating on behalf of the Ukrainians have been earning anywhere from $2000 to $4000 USD per day. It is no surprise given that war has been a profitable endeavor despite the various atrocities it creates.

Ukrainians have been capitalizing on the technological capabilities of Starlink for the last several months. Things have now changed on the battlefield and Ukrainians have now been complaining about the ineffectiveness of the system. Reports are now coming out from Russia that they are the ones who are behind such a cause.

Vladimir Rogov, a high-ranking figure in Russia’s security forces made this statement about the news.

“The Starlink communication system in the territory of the post-Ukrainian space controlled by the Zelensky regime has been disabled, according to a number of sources. Rocket strikes today disabled a number of Starlink satellite communication terminals. In the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the situation is close to losing control of units,”. He stated.

On Oct. 3, Musk revealed that SpaceX had spent $80 million to launch and maintain Starlink in Ukraine. There have also been reports that Ukrainians have been experiencing issues with the connectivity and reliability of the system.

It is to be noted that Russia has advanced electronic warfare systems that can block electronic signals if the need may arise to use such a weapon.

Elon Musk has made statements earlier that Starlink cannot be easily hacked because there are contingencies in place to update the software of the entire system if need be. Let’s see how this situation develops over the next coming weeks.
