As the world continues to return to some level of normalcy, the usual norms have changed. Workers are now being forced to work from home which presents its own set of unique challenges. Some of these challenges include productivity, communication, and normal everyday activities such as housekeeping, and family time.
It’s a new world for some of us and adaptation is important more than ever right now. Another problem that is leaving a lot of large organizations scrambling around to figure out what to do is cyber threats.
In a new study published by Tenable, they found out that 74% of businesses are seeing security vulnerabilities mainly among remote workers. They saw three main factors behind these vulnerabilities. These are the lack of visibility into the home network of remote workers, migration to the all things cloud and the expansion of the software supply chain.
Employers are still skeptical over the durability of cloud platforms which are often marketed and sold to them. Over 65% of respondents found compromises within their cloud platforms.
Overall, this study shouldn’t be a surprise because there wasn’t any prior infrastructure to offset the current risk. We are all in uncharted waters as we try to paddle through the waves of changes around us.
Cyber security was always nice to have within most small businesses. As we propel into a new age and small business starts to leverage technology, they will confront the need to utilize cyber security at one point.
