Dolla Financial Services Limited was incorporated in Jamaica in 2009 and commenced operations in October 2014. The company is a subsidiary of the private equity investment company, First Rock Private Equity Limited.
On June 15, 2022, Dolla Financial Services was listed on the Jamaica Stock Exchange following a historic IPO that was 9.5 times oversubscribed.
Dolla has been providing easy access to better financial services by serving the unbanked and underbanked population. Dolla focuses on growth and excellence in all aspects of its business.
Kadeen is also the Founder and Chairman of Dequity Capital Management. This is a privately-held investment company that owns a collection of diversified businesses operating in several sectors within emerging markets. One such business is iCreate Limited which received a $50-million (JMD) dollar investment.
iCreate Limited (ICREATE) is a publicly listed company. It is a Creative Institute developed with the aim of filling the gap in skills training and development of creatives in Jamaica and the wider Caribbean. It was founded by another prominent serial entrepreneur called Tyrone Wilson.
From his minimal public appearances, Kadeen Mairs comes off as being very humble. He is also very knowledgeable in the micro-finance field which his company is the largest player by market cap currently.
He is a visionary and one to look out for; Personally, I love seeing young people taking over various sectors, especially the finance sector. With the introduction of younger players, you will see a lot of innovations and the disruption of an outdated system that is evident across all sectors.
These two companies alone position Kadeen to become one of Jamaica and the Caribbean’s most prominent financial moguls like his predecessors before him such as one of the richest black men in the world, ‘Michael-Lee Chin’.
