Hubmark: A digital marketing agency disrupting the local market

Hubmark Company Limited is a digital marketing company that is disrupting the business development space locally. Their flagship service is a business kit package, it’s all in one package that covers branding, marketing, IT-related services, and so on.

This all-in-one solution basically swallows all the complexity and mundane processes that micro and mid-business owners have to face in our current global climate in order to get a business off the ground.

For a company that started out in 2018 with a couple of curious entrepreneurs who noticed a need in the business market for an overall brand development and marketing system, they have had a lot of monetary success. Excluding the first year in which they started, they have never recorded a loss in revenue ever since.

In 2019, the company made a three percent net gain over the previous year. They’ve managed to also grow another 13 percent in 2020 with revenues over $1 million. They grew 38 percent in 2021 with revenues over $4 million and 51 percent margin improvement year-to-date in 2022 with revenues of over $6 million.

Obviously, we can see that they are growing at a steady pace. Despite their success, the journey was never easy. The main guys behind the company currently are Jahmone Salmon, Rushane Wright and Howayne Harvey who are currently in school finishing various degrees.

They got together along with various others who are not part of the core of the current team and start a company that could bring value to business owners.

Being students at the time just starting out, it was difficult, even though the overall digital marketing space was not new due to local competitors, they knew they could come up with a solution that could offer value to businesses that wasn’t being served.

The vision started out pretty slow and even though the first year was far from spectacular, they still never let that deter them. They started out trying to conjure up interest for fish fries, which is basically a cultural Jamaican party where you purchase tickets for an event and that ticket would encompass a free meal.

You could even look at the ticket as basically purchasing the meal which would later motivate you to attend the event.

This never worked out well they did what any smart entrepreneur would do, instead of closing up shop they pivot and jumped right into the digital marketing idea.

The rest could be seen as history, as from there on they got the idea to develop the business kit package which is basically a subscription-like service, that allowed them to earn recurring revenues from multiple clients who like and support their service.

The future for Hubmark looks bright and the founders are looking to expand their presence internationally.

It goes to show that if you are on the edge about a business idea you should try it and see if it works. If it fails, you can always take what you learn from that failure and pivot into a new direction. Keep creating!
