Man United stars losing faith in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

0

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is fighting to save his job as Manchester United manager, with sources telling ESPN that the 48-year-old had already lost the faith of a sizable number of his squad even before Sunday’s 5-0 defeat against Liverpool.

ESPN has also been told that the United hierarchy is aware that former Juventus, Chelsea, and Inter Milan coach Antonio Conte is prepared to return to management at Old Trafford.

Solskjaer, initially appointed as interim manager following the sacking of Jose Mourinho in December 2018, has now lost five of his last nine games, and sources said that his support in the dressing room is largely limited to the core of United’s British players and a small number of the team’s overseas players.

Although sources have said the atmosphere around the club is nowhere close to being, in the words of one source, “as toxic as it was under Mourinho,” the defeat to Liverpool has cast an air of resignation around Old Trafford about Solskjaer’s future as manager.

ESPN has been told that Solskjaer’s inability to solve the team’s defensive problems, his apparent “favoritism” of underperforming players, and his reluctance to hand opportunities to Jesse Lingard, Donny van de Beek, and Nemanja Matic have led to some players openly criticizing the manager to teammates while on international duty.

Facebook legal trouble worsens as fresh documents surfaces

Facebook may face more legal troubles as on Friday, a collection of 17 news outlets began publishing a series of stories called “The Facebook Papers”. This whole operation was made in part by Frances Haugen, who was a data engineer working at Facebook. She is now a whistleblower, criticizing the company for its role in destabilizing society.

The consortium consists of companies such as CNN and The Wall Street Journal. They are already dissecting and interpreting the material in order to educate their audience about Facebook’s malpractices.

A crisis is nothing new for Facebook, There have been many cases throughout the company’s history where persons have been calling out against the company. Over the last 5 years, the attacks have intensified.

They are also hitting closer to home as their own employees are now fed up with the company. Topics such as free speech, monopoly, and data privacy are current criticisms that the company will always have to deal with.

There have been talks that the company is currently considering a branding change to turn a new chapter in the company’s future. But is that enough to rid the company of its legal troubles or clean up its image somewhat in the public’s eye? Time will tell what the future will hold.

Bloomberg released a post showing that Facebook’s user growth is on the decline in the US. They are still the world’s largest company but for any internet company. Evolutionary dynamics might take its course as it’s hard to stay at the top in the tech world

You Can Play Doom On Twitter Now

0

Doom, the iconic first-person shooter that’s playable on seemingly any electronic device, finally makes the jump to the social media platform Twitter.

Doom is “playable” on Twitter now thanks to a bot called Tweet2Doom created by Georgi Gerganov. Here’s how it works: You send the bot a series of keyboard commands, and the bot spits out a video with corresponding Doom gameplay.

For example, you can start a new game by replying to the bot with the text, “/play x,,e,,e,,e,,50-,50-u,15-f.” That translates to getting past the main menu, waiting for 50 frames for the screen wipe to finish, walking forward for 50 frames, and shooting for 15 frames. For more information on keyboard inputs and how the bot works, check out Tweet2Doom’s pinned guide.

It should be possible, with a bit of trial and error, to fully complete a game of Doom simply by tweeting instructions at a bot on the internet. Some players have managed to complete entire stages, a few in record time. This isn’t as random as it may seem — Doom is an entirely predictable game, provided no mistakes are made at all.

To start a new game, users must reply-tweet “/play x,,e,,e,,e,,50-,50-u,15-f”.

As the bot converts each tweet into a gameplay video that’s sent back to the user, it’s slower than playing the game with real-time inputs, but each valid tweet can also be extended through further replies so that a gameplay session can be extended across tweet threads.

When the community isn’t finding different ways to run Doom, the modding scene remains heavily active. This includes a first-person version of Sega Mega Drive classic Golden Axe, and Thatcher’s Techbase, the mod that lets players kill former British prime minister Margaret Thatcher.

God Of War PC Version Is Coming In January

0

2018’s God of war is headed to PC in January. The game will release on January 14 through Steam, Sony has announced. It follows several of the company’s other high-profile PlayStation exclusives eventually released on the platform.

“All of us at Santa Monica Studio have been humbled by the immense amount of support and passion fans of the God of War series have shown in the latest chapter of Kratos’ story since its release. As of August 2021, 19.5MM copies of God of War on PlayStation 4 have been sold and we can’t wait to share that experience with a whole new group of players on PC.”

The PC version of God of War promises a range of enhancements including “high fidelity graphics,” with support for 4K resolutions, ultrawide displays, unlocked framerates, and advanced settings including higher resolution shadows, “improved” screen-space reflections and support for GTAO and SSDO.

Nvidia DLSS support will also be available at launch to help with framerates. Controllers and fully customizable mouse-and-keyboard setups will be supported.

In addition, God of War for PC, which costs $50, includes the following extra content:

  • Death’s Vow Armor Sets for Kratos and Atreus
  • Exile’s Guardian Shield Skin
  • Buckler of the Forge Shield Skin
  • Shining Elven Soul Shield Skin
  • Dökkenshieldr Shield Skin

There are no system requirements yet, but the game itself is still a little ways off. God of War is available for pre-purchase now for $50/£40/€50 but won’t release until January 14, 2022.

A sequel, God of War: Ragnarok, is also set to arrive in 2022 on the PlayStation 5—perhaps this means we’ll see it coming our way sooner rather than later, too.

Cyberpunk 2077, Witcher 3 PS5/Xbox Series Version Delayed To 2022

0

CD Projekt Red has confirmed that the highly anticipated PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 have now been delayed to 2022. Previously, the new-gen upgrades were slated to release in 2021.

However, due to reasons that have not been disclosed yet, the release has been pushed to 2022. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S version of Cyberpunk 2077 was highly anticipated since the game had become quite infamous for its numerous bugs and glitches upon its first release.

Cyberpunk 2077

Despite announcing that the new-gen versions of both Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 would be released this year, suspicions arose when CD Projekt Red had little to offer in terms of new details on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S ports.

Till now, no new details have been revealed by CD Projekt Red regarding the new-gen upgrades. However, it is believed that Witcher 3 will have some fan mods as part of its enhancements, though no news has been revealed regarding the up-gradation of its six years old graphics.

The Witcher 3

After confirming the delay, CD Projekt Red has scheduled the release of Cyberpunk 2077‘s new-gen version in Q1 2022 and The Witcher 3 in Q2 2022. The developer firm was heavily criticized upon the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 as players were frustrated with innumerable bugs and glitches which led to a massive amount of refunds, ultimately the game was delisted from the PlayStation Store

Hence, it’s prudent on the developer’s part to delay the release to ensure that a seamless version is launched this time to avoid any major backlash. However, the sudden news of the delay could have been avoided by providing any substantial and tangible development in the game that could have assured the fans prior to the release.

In the case of The Witcher 3, the DLC pack will now contain the Netflix-themed armor won by Henry Cavill’s Geralt and a few other items from the series.

Sony Pictures has revealed the first trailer for ‘Uncharted,’ the film adaptation of the video game series of the same name. Starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg, the film will be released on February 18, 2022 in theaters including, IMAX 3D and RealD 3D.

The movie stars Holland as a younger Nathan, who, in the games, believes himself to be a descendant of Sir Francis Drake. He’s not your Indiana Jones-type explorer.

He’s a more street-smart, smooth-talking tomb raider. Wahlberg, meanwhile, plays Victor “Sully” Sullivan, Drake’s wisecracking mentor and treasure-hunting partner.

The film has a long history of getting delayed both with its development and release. The film entered development in 2008 at first, with film producer Avi Arad stating that he is working with a division of Sony Pictures Releasing to develop the film adaptation of Uncharted, but the film entered in a complicated production, with directors, writers, and cast members.

Wahlberg was supposed to play Nathan Drake, the role which was later decided for Tom Holland as the film was decided to be an origin story of Nathan Drake.

The film was originally set for release on June 10, 2016, but was delayed to June 30, 2017. The film was later delayed to December 18, 2020, and then to March 5, 2021, after Travis Knight’s departure.

It was further delayed to October 8, 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film was then moved up to July 16, 2021, before moving to February 11, 2022, and then again to the following week on Feb. 18, 2022 (current release date).

Bitcoin on course to break through all-time high

0
bitcoin

For a brief moment, last week Bitcoin (BTC) came under slight pressure when James Dimon deemed it a worthless asset. As is often the case with Bitcoin throughout the year, whenever someone with “authority” comes out and delivers their opinion, it affects the asset.

Even though Jamie Dimon is the CEO of JP Morgan Chase, which is the largest of the big four banks in America. It still never impacted the price of Bitcoin much during the week.

I understand that cryptocurrency is quite a new concept to grasp for old-age financiers. Especially if their worldview about how finance should be is coming under attack by new technologies. It’s a sort of existential crisis that they cannot wrap their head around quite yet.

Analysts are predicting that bitcoin is on point to break through its peak next week if the SEC approves futures-based Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETF). If this works it could be huge for the crypto market as a whole.

Progress so far has been positive and they are predicting that they might approve at least one or two applications next week. News has been swirling around that ProShares and Invesco may be given the right to offer these financial products.

Even though this is good news, there is still speculation as to what could happen because those two companies could have a first-mover advantage that may cause problems. The assumption is that the SEC is actively looking at other companies as well to see how they could go about dampening the first-mover effect.

New study finds increasing levels of cyber threats as more workers turn remote

As the world continues to return to some level of normalcy, the usual norms have changed. Workers are now being forced to work from home which presents its own set of unique challenges. Some of these challenges include productivity, communication, and normal everyday activities such as housekeeping, and family time.

It’s a new world for some of us and adaptation is important more than ever right now. Another problem that is leaving a lot of large organizations scrambling around to figure out what to do is cyber threats.

In a new study published by Tenable, they found out that 74% of businesses are seeing security vulnerabilities mainly among remote workers. They saw three main factors behind these vulnerabilities. These are the lack of visibility into the home network of remote workers, migration to the all things cloud and the expansion of the software supply chain.

Employers are still skeptical over the durability of cloud platforms which are often marketed and sold to them. Over 65% of respondents found compromises within their cloud platforms.

Overall, this study shouldn’t be a surprise because there wasn’t any prior infrastructure to offset the current risk. We are all in uncharted waters as we try to paddle through the waves of changes around us.

Cyber security was always nice to have within most small businesses. As we propel into a new age and small business starts to leverage technology, they will confront the need to utilize cyber security at one point.

Linkedin to pull out of China

linkedin
Simferopol, Crimea - May 25, 2014: LinkedIn is a social network for search and establishment of business contacts. It is founded in 2002.

Microsoft to pull Linkedin out of China as tensions between China and large companies continue to rise. This year we have seen the Chinese government take an iron fist toward tech companies and the elite. The world is still skeptical as to what is China’s main motive.

Probably the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has more tricks up its sleeves. Despite the move, there have been growing tensions between Microsoft and China, over the last two weeks, they decided to block the profiles of a group of US journalists in China.

LinkedIn released a blog post discussing certain intricacies of the matter. It’s clear that compliance was an issue that includes freedom of speech. Over the last year, the Chinese Government has been creating tighter laws that will allow them to have more control over the operations of foreign companies.

If you don’t want to comply, you can simply leave. That last statement of simply leaving is not easy for every foreign company especially if they can grow within certain markets.

It’s now a fact that China is seen as a growing economy. Foreign investors and entrepreneurs are often lured into the opportunity of capitalizing on the Chinese market. But it all comes at a cost and some business owners are not willing to take that risk. In 2010, Google had to pull its service from China after it came under an immense Cyber-attack. It is alleged that it was state-backed.

As the Chinese government starts to impose more laws upon the tech industry, look out for more events like these to happen.
