An unfair world can be your greatest advantage

Must Read

“Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done!” ― Sylvester Stallone, Rocky Balboa

The world is unfair, the best doesn’t always get the promotion and the good doesn’t always win. In the movies, the heroes get to kill the villain. While, in the real world, the villain wins and then become heroes.

It’s just the way of life and it will not change one bit. The best we can do is adapt to it and stand our place within this world. Yes, we can sit down and curse the “system” and government all day.

It will not change a thing; we all know how pathetic they are in creating rules and policies for the greater good. Life is unfair and it will not get any easier as inequality is getting out of control and countries are destabilizing.

But in this perceived doom and gloom, there are opportunities to take advantage of.

Everyone is dealt a fair hand of unfairness within this world. Whether we have an illness, came from a poor socio-economic background, bad genetics along with the great equalizer we all must face at the end, death.

You are not the first and will likely not be the last person on earth to experience hardships. It’s a fundamental part of life and philosophers have gone to great lengths on talking about it.

Instead of complaining and whining about how bad our situation is, we just have to deal with it. During this pandemic, I have seen a lot of complaining, “government never gave me any handouts”, “I don’t have any money”, “The country is sh*t” etc.

While they might be completely valid, it is a waste of time as we are living in an age where if you are not “lazy” and have the ability to do basic computer skills, you can make it within 5-10 years of focus and relentless work.

It’s happening all around us and wealth is being created daily. Generational wealth in fact is being created right now. It’s a period filled with unpredictability but at the same time, we will eventually get over this period unless something catastrophic happens such as a devastating extinction event.

The likelihood of that happening is quite off the mark at this point, so we might as well adapt or die.

At Clarke And Cash, we believe that persons should zoom out of the matrix: media, negativity, over consumption, etc, and see that the world is changing and if they are not willing to adapt, natural selection will take its course.

Nobody Cares About You

No one is going to help you unless you help yourself. Don’t look for government to help you or power hungry politicians. Especially if you don’t have anything of value to add to this world at the moment.

You need to learn real skills and work on yourself first, then the world will attract the necessary resources and elements to you. What skills? Understand technology – it’s mandatory at this point, it can open up an entire new reality not made of atomic substances but bytes and bits.

If technology is not your main staple, that’s okay, you can level up by learning a vocational skill such as electrician, plumbing, painting, etc.

The thing is persons who are successful or who are on the path to success don’t like to be around losers. It’s a fact. They are a burden and when you are climbing a mountain, you want as little dead weight as possible.

You want to be around persons who are responsible and got their stuff together. Persons with who you can bounce ideas off of and share experiences with. You are often alone in this world and the higher you go, the more apparent this becomes.

Fortune Favors The Brave

If you are born with nothing and still have nothing. You got to make swings, you got to get to the crease and swing for the roof. Risk is important especially if you don’t have much to lose. You would be amazed how much you can achieve if you make a swing for the fences.

Everything entails risk, the key players behind this company are taking a risk and it might all fall to the wayside and become nothing. But who cares, at least we tried and never sit back wondering what if we did try.

Experiments are important and don’t be afraid to take them. If you are at a dead-end job and you want to level up, you can either sit back and enjoy the dreaded grind or take a risk. Start a side business, relocate and start fresh, learn a skill – just do something that adds value to your life and never stay static.

Focus On What You Can Control

You personally cannot control who the political leaders are unless your one single vote determines who the winner should be which is rare. You don’t control the economy; the economy is complex and a lot of variables are involved.

Not even how and where you were born you can control. What you can control though is the information you absorb, the food you eat, friends you have, focus, etc. An important part of success is actually about optimizing what you can control.

If you can optimize your diet, focus, relationships, information, and many other day to day variables that affect us, you can change your reality. Stop worrying about large challenges for now until you have enough power and resources to change them. For example, you cannot stop crime as a whole.

The best you can do is practice safety measures only you can control: don’t live in volatile environments, don’t overdress in public and wear expensive clothing, don’t talk about your wealth with others, not even your family, etc.

Keep that strictly between you and your accountant and business associates whom you trust. If you can control these variables, it cannot stop the impact of crime on you, but it can reduce it a lot.

Stop Caring About What Others Say

People will talk a lot especially when you are leveling up, you cannot please them. I have shaved off a lot of friends and families. It was brutal but necessary, in life our situations are different which requires pragmatic trade-offs.

Persons will comment on everything you do and likely drown out your inner voice and intuition which is lacking in our copycat matrix. If you are playing video games all day and watching television, they will question your work ethic.

If you work too hard, they might question your obsessiveness. You cannot please them; you only can please yourself by doing meaningful work. Oftentimes conventional wisdom offered by others can harm you.

Contrarian Often Pays

Similar to the topic below, it can pay off pretty nicely if you become a contrarian. Don’t be afraid to hold views that are not of the norm. It’s often contrarians who change history and the masses are there to build it.

The contrarian creates the vision and the masses just live in it. For example, look at automobiles, persons weren’t looking for an automobile, they wanted a faster and stronger horse, as that was the most common transportation at that time.

Henry Ford and other innovators at the time changed that. The internet is another example, it was as if it fell from space. Persons never predicted the connected and online world we have today. It just happened by contrarians.

As a contrarian, you are going to hear a lot of naysayers who don’t have an idea of what you are doing, commenting as if they are experts (dunning kruger effect). Don’t let that deter you.

Join The Elite And Do The Opposite

Persons often attack the elite for not helping out our society more. I used to follow this path when I was younger. That is the wrong mindset to have. Why not instead become rich and do the opposite of the elite?

Be a contrarian and forge your establishment that can push society forward. That’s the path we are going to take. If you need a better education system, why not become a politician and change that.

If you need more businesses within this country, why not become rich and share the wealth by investing in more small businesses. This will then create a positive feedback loop and will help the economy.

Just focus on what you can control, become elite and make the change. This will challenge you to level up.

It’s Not A Given

As I have said at the beginning of this article, the world is unfair and things don’t often work out. You might do all the right things and still fail; success is never a given. It’s not about following rules as rules come and go. It’s about being fluid enough to adapt to changes.

If you fail while on your path to a goal, it will change you forever. If you start a business, had some success and then fail, it will change you.

The person you become in the process and the skills you gathered along the way, will turn you into another being. You only need to be right once in order to succeed and build generational wealth.

Life is always a numbers game, if you are applying for a job, don’t stop at 10 applications, send in 100 and then a 1000. Ensure you are tracking and iterating. If you fail at a business, try again at another one and use the lessons learned.

Everything should be viewed in terms of bets, what are the odds of being successful. Sometimes you are going to have to put all your chips on the table. Other times you are going to have to strategize and be methodical. Success if everything, there is no set rule.

In closing, you just got to attack and never leave any stone untouched. An unfair world, allows you to respect the process. Imagine if everything was easy, we would’ve been worse off as a civilization. There wouldn’t be any challenges to overcome and suffering to endure.

Life is unfair and this is not going to change or get any easier. No one or anything is coming to save you. You just have to adapt or die, choosing either one of those poisons, as the path is not easy if you are going to travel on either path.
